Patricians |
Patricians often lived in a city that was run by slaves. As for furniture, the architects suggest that the rich and wealthy Romans did not have much of it. Wealthy Romans relaxed and ate on reclined couches. They ate a wealthy dinner such as; shellfish, hard boiled eggs, olives or smoked fish, with sweetened honey. They would have large banquets with amazing entertainment that consist music and dancing.
Children had their own rooms with their own toys. The children had a personal slave. They would play with them, carry all their books to school, and attend to their children's needs. |
Plebeians
The plebeians were the work class also known as the lower class. They lived in a 3 to 4 story apartments that were made out of old wood. In these apartments there were no bathrooms. They had a single room that could fit in two families. The slaves that worked in the upper class (patricians) lived better than the plebeians. That's how un wealthy they were. The food that they had at was bread, beans, peas, and porridge. They usually found it in local restaurants or bars.
As for plebeian children would follow their parent's career. Most children didn't go to school if they did they would only go for two years. As for their shelter they didn't have beds. If they did they were lucky and they had to share it with their other families. By: Kierstyn Noel
